What Athletes Are Saying About

Coach Michi...

Michi knows how to work with anyone at the level they are -- rather than the level they might wish, or think they currently are at. She'll give you what you need, if you allow it -- from specific form improvement, to nutrition possibilities, to race tips, and most importantly -- a training schedule to keep you accountable. If you have questions/concerns, she'll tweak your schedule appropriate to your life or physical situation --such that you will be ready to perform at your best on race day. While she's usually in amazing Ironman/Marathon shape herself, she can equally coach those from that level down to true beginners. In addition, she provides the right level of friendly confidence/cheering boost, to those who might be struggling or doubtful. J.J.

A great coach is more than a person who creates the plan, crunches the numbers, and analyzes the data. To be a great coach is to know your athlete. Michi is a an extraordinary coach. She gets to know her athletes. She knows how to listen to them, their goals, their fears, and show them what their true potential, even when they have a hard time seeing it themselves. Her ability to build relationships and understand what each athlete needs makes her very special. I began endurance sports a long time ago because I wanted to prove to myself that I was not weak. I have Crohn’s disease. Having a disease like Crohn’s can really wreak havoc on your psyche and I convinced myself that I was slow, not strong, and that I would never measure up to be much of an athlete. Michi has been my coach for over a year and a half and has helped me rewire my brain. She has taught me so much about training, nutrition, and about myself. I am not weak. I am strong. I am an athlete. Every workout counts. Every effort counts. Whatever happens during the race, simply showing up and trying is a huge win to be celebrated. Learning to be kind to yourself, listening to your body, and knowing that you are capable of more than you ever think has made a positive impact on my life. I am incredibly inspired by Michi and cannot wait to see all the things I can accomplish with her as my coach. I am grateful to not only call Michi a coach but also a friend. She brings out the best in me.  M.H.

It has been my good fortune to have had Michi Seagrist as my running and triathlon coach/trainer.  I have known Michi for several years and was always impressed not only with her personal achievements as a triathlete, but also as a professional in the health and wellness field.  She is a dedicated and reliable professional who is genuinely concerned about the wellbeing of her clients and aiding in achieving their short and long term goals.  She goes above and beyond what is expected of a trainer.  Being a trainer myself, I was extremely selective as to whom I would want to train me when I first started running, cycling and swimming a few years ago.  It was a no brainer!  Michi has brought out the best in me, has taught me to become a better athlete AND coach, and is always so motivating and positive!  One of the largest lessons she has taught me that is instilled in my head forever and will always be a tool for me.  “sometimes less is more”!  If you are looking for a coach who will motivate, inspire, push, show compassion but at the same time will take you out of your comfort zone in the most positive way, then Michi is the one you want in your corner!  Thank you Michi for making me a better ME!  LV
